Angel's Historic Double Scratch Golfer Eilir Angel proudly shows why he's probably the best amateur golfer in the area. Certainly a consistent winner as this photo (right) shows Eilir with both Caernarfonshire & District Scratch trophies which he won against strong competition and in tough weather conditions last year. This is the first time this feat has ever been achieved in the one season. Llongyfarchiadau Eilir Congratulations. How about a 'Double Double' this year? Eilir has been a member at Caernarfon for many years and took up the game when he was barely a teenager when his father Einion (who is the Secretary at Caernarfon) introduced him to the game. He hasn't looked back since and is currently in the golfing form of his life. The clubhouse trophy winners display boards have Eilir's name on several and last year Eilir also won the Club's scratch matchplay competition for the third year running. This picture now hangs proudly in its frame in the clubhouse lounge. Let's hope it inspires others at the club, particularly our latest crop of juniors. |
