CAPTEN Y MERCHED
LADY CAPTAIN
Mrs Nesta Williams

The weather was kind during the second attempt to play the Lady Captains Day competition on Tuesday 18th September 2007. The first attempt had to be abandoned due to flooding of the greens after torrential rain.

The competition was well supported and the worthy winner with a stableford score of 39 points was Elin Parry.

Elin's handicap has reduced considerably in the last 12 months and has been reduced to 6 at the time of writing. A fantastic achievement. In second place was Marion Hughes with Olwen Rowlands third.

The Senior lady's prize was won by Hilda Roberts while Sandra Garnett won the prizefor the best score in the 'Hidden Holes' competition. The 'Nearest the Pin' on the 17th hole was won by Lorrie James. Donna Jones notably scored two fine birdies in her round.

Llongyfarchiadau gwresog iddynt bob un.

On Saturday 29th September 2007 Sue Bailey organised a 'Texas Scramble' for our new lady members to experience playing alongside more experienced members. The weather was fine and the course deserted (thanks mainly to the Wales v Fiji rugby match).

The 8 hole event followed by a delicious meal, proved a resounding success.

The winning team were Gwenda Roberts, Blodwen Thomas and Norma Horsfall.
Well done to all the new ladies on their perseverence and good humour. They will be a great asset to the club.
